Demonstration of Microsoft Project

This would require us to get creative or do some tasks in parallel to get all of the event day's tasks done that day. On the other hand PERT (Program Evaluation Review Technique), charts are used to support sophisticated techniques for analyzing project schedules. PERT charts are used to easily identify the critical path along with any time slop you may have in the other tasks. For complex, time-critical projects the PERT chart is useful in providing a clear indication of the critical sequence of tasks necessary to keep a project on schedule. The PERT chart uses a connected series of nodes to make explicit dependencies between tasks. The order of tasks is given by the flow of the connections left to right, but the horizontal axis is not necessarily linear time. PERT charts can be more compact than the Gantt chart, but does so at the cost of a linear time scale. PERT charts do not show task duration graphically and may be difficult to read. This is because in a PERT chart the time resource required by a task is given numerically rather than appearing graphically as in a Gantt chart.
